FLCS Central Office Update:

The replacement of the Central Office roof began today.

Materials are scheduled to arrive next week for the bus garage roof replacement.

The asbestos gym floor tile is scheduled to be abated next week.

We are still working with our insurance company and engineers to develop a plan for rebuilding the gym.

A demolition crew will be onsite in the next few weeks to take the remaining partial gym walls, bleachers, and wood arches down.

The insurance company totaled 4 of the 6 buses damaged by the tornado.  We are in the process of purchasing two used buses to add to our fleet.

We have several gym bricks available for pick-up daily from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

FLCS Central Office Update:

The insurance company recommended replacing the office and the bus garage roofs due to tornado damage.  The replacement work should begin in September.

We are working with our insurance company and engineers to develop a plan for rebuilding the gym.  The wooden beams were inspected this week and they believe the wooden arches can be saved for the rebuild of the gym.

We are still waiting for a report from the body shop/insurance adjuster on the 6 buses sent in for repair.

Asbestos testing results for the gym roof and brick mortar came back negative.

We have received several inquiries about purchasing bricks from the gym.  We are working on a plan to make them available to the public - more information to follow.

FLCS Central Office Update:

The east gym wall has been stabilized through a ledger board and support system.

We are still waiting for a report from the body shop/insurance adjuster on the 6 buses sent in for repair.  We do not anticipate any interruption in student transportation services.

Several staff and community members have asked about the wooden Indian Brave that was attached to the west gym wall.  Initial observations indicate it was destroyed by the tornado.

We are meeting with an expert on the gym's wooden support beams this week.  Hopefully be able to salvage them for the rebuild.

The main entrance to the Central Office is OPEN.

Cleanup in the gym and the surrounding grounds will continue over the next several days.
