The Board approved the minutes from the October 12, 2006 school board meeting as presented.
The Board acknowledged Lapel Jr.-Sr. High School, which provided the information on the bulletin board for November.
The Board held a public hearing to receive questions and comments regarding an additional appropriation of $200,000 for the Self Insurance Fund. No one addressed the Board about the additional appropriation. The Board approved the additional appropriation.
The Board approved for Superintendent Ned Speicher to contact the Frankton-Lapel Education Association to propose to reopen negotiations on the Master Contract regarding health insurance.
The Board approved the final legal documents for the refinancing of the North Elementary School Holding Company bonds.
Mr. Speicher reported on the progress of the construction projects. The Board approved the construction invoices for November.
Greg Drennen of Lorenz Williams Clinton reported on the proposed renovation of the central office.
Mr. Speicher reported on the parent-teacher conferences that were held October 24, 2006.
Frankton Elementary School principal Ronda Podzielinski and Lapel Elementary School principal Woody Fields reported on the plans to improve instruction and remediation efforts for the elementary schools.
Mr. Speicher reported on the need for another pre-school special education teacher.
The Board approved participation in the Indiana Bond Bank to borrow funds from tax anticipation warrants for 2007.
The Board approved a cash tuition request for Kinsey Brazel, grade 11, to attend Lapel Jr.-Sr. High School.
The Board approved the construction of equipment storage/press box buildings at the new Lapel baseball and softball fields.
The Board approved a revised mileage chart for the school corporation.
The Board approved a request by Andrea Coryell, Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School English teacher, to take Senior English students to England in the Fall of 2007.
The Board approved a resolution to place remaining 2006 appropriations from the various FLCS funds in the Rainy Day Fund as determined by the superintendent to help protect the school corporation in shortfalls of state funding and/or shortfalls in property tax collections.
