The Board acknowledged Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School which provided the information on the board room bulletin board for February.
The Board approved the minutes from the January 17, 2008 school board meeting as presented.
Superintendent Ned Speicher reported on the construction projects. The Board approved payment of the current construction invoices.
Mr. Speicher reported that all FLCS schools had improved their ISTEP scores for the 2007-08 school year and that all schools will make their Annual Yearly Performance goals.
Mr. Speicher reported on the new weight room equipment at Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School.
Mr. Speicher reported on the Charlie’s Fund for Children Grant, managed by the South Madison Community Foundation, that is available to help needy children in Stony Creek Township in the Frankton-Lapel district.
The Board approved the following cash tuition requests:

The Board approved the date for the kindergarten and age 4 pre-school round-up to be on Thursday, April 17, 2008 from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. at both elementary schools.
The Board approved the following out-of-state field trips for Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School:
History class to the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago on March 29, 2008
Senior class to Cedar Point, Ohio on May 17 & 18, 2008
Senior class students to England from November 3-12, 2008
8th grade class to Washington D.C./Baltimore from October 7-11, 2008
The Board approved a private residential facility placement service contract with the State of Indiana.
The Board approved a Master Contract with the Frankton-Lapel Education Association. The main points of the new contract are as follows:
A 3.3% raise from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008, and a 2% raise from January 1, 2009 to August 31, 2009.*
Continue 90/10 health insurance (Board pays 90% and employee pays 10% of the premium).
Retro payment for 39 days from January 1 – February 29, 2008.
New contract language.
The Board also approved pay raises for the following employee groups and pay the raise retroactively for the group:

The Board approved Greg Fisher as the school district’s representative on the Library Board for the Anderson Public Library.
