Frankton-Lapel Community Schools

  • Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School students Grayson Dyer and McKenzie McCorkhill led the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • The Board approved the minutes from the October 12, 2017 school board meeting as presented.
  • The Board acknowledged Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School, which provided the information on the bulletin board for November.
    • Students Grayson Dyer and McKenzie McCorkhill and teachers Matt McClintick and Stephanie Stewart reported on the Frankton 8' grade class trip to Washington, D.C. The Board approved their request to take the trip in 2018.
  • Superintendent Bobby Fields reported on the health insurance claims for October 2017.
  • Mr. Fields updated the Board on the appraisal and possible sale of the Cunningham property outside of Frankton that the school corporation inherited.
  • Mr. Fields updated the Board on the parking issue at Frankton Elementary School and a proposal for a parking, roadway and sidewalks construction project.
  • Mr. Fields reported on the free textbook statistics for 2017-18.
  • The Board approved the following fund raising activities:

  • The Board approved the following gifts and donations:

      • $650.00 for the Robotics Club as follows: Joe Wachs, $100; Rickers Oil Co., $100; Shuter Farms, $250; POET Biorefining, $50; Stonegate Farms, $100; Richard Esters, $50
      • $255.00 and donation of coats from Madison Christian Church for the Goodwill Fund
      • $695.26 from Donors Choose for 1 stool, 2 balance ball chairs and 6 wobble chairs
    • Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School
      • $200.00 from the FHS Alumni Association for the Emma Copeland Reading Scholarship Fund
    • Lapel Elementary School
      • $4,050.00 from South Madison Community Fund for school activities
      • $650.00 from First United Methodist Church Ministries for school activities
    • Lapel High School
      • $1,550.00 from South Madison Community Fund for the Robotics Club
  • The Board approved a resolution to place remaining 2017 appropriations from the various Frankton-Lapel Community Schools funds in the Rainy Day Fund as determined by the superintendent to help protect the school corporation in shortfalls of state funding and/or shortfalls in property tax collections.
  • The Board approved the claim documents as submitted.
  • The following documents were signed by all board members:
    • Minutes of the October 12,2017 school board meeting; letters of appreciation to Joe Wachs, Rickers Oil Co., Shuter Farms, POET Biorefining, Stonegate Farms, Richard Esters, Madison Christian Church, FHS Alumni Association, South Madison Community Fund, and First United Methodist Church Ministries; Rainy Day Fund resolution; and accounts payable voucher register, payroll claim listings, and hand check listing.
  • Announcements were made of the following dates:

    • December14, 2017: Regular Board Meeting at Administration Office, 7:30 p.m.
