Frankton-Lapel Community Schools

  • Board President Brian Gill led the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • The Board approved the minutes from the May 11, 2017 school board meeting as presented.
  • The Board held a 1028 Public Hearing on the proposed renovation and facility improvements consisting of the installation of solar and LED lighting in multiple buildings.  No one spoke at the hearing.  The Board approved a resolution approving the proposed improvements.
  • Superintendent Bobby Fields reported on the solar project.
  • Mr. Fields reported on the refunding of the lease rental bonds.
  • Mr. Fields held a discussion with the Board concerning virtual school.
  • Mr. Fields held a discussion with the Board concerning the valedictorian/salutatorian honor and Academic Hall of Fame requirements.
  • Mr. Fields reported on the health insurance claims for May 2017.
  • The Board approved a job description for the new position of Assistant Director of Buildings and Grounds.
  • The Board approved for Lapel Elementary School Choir Director Jill Guion to have a summer choir camp and one-day tour of the LES choir.

      • $400.00 from Richard & Leanna Esters for the Robotics Club

  • The Board approved a request by the Frankton First United Methodist Church to hire FLCS bus driver Tim Rogers to drive his school bus on a church trip to Monticello, Indiana.

  • The Board approved the Non-Certified Salary Schedule for July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018.
  • The Board approved the renewal of contracts for the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Principals, Assistant Principals, Athletic Directors, Directors, and Administrative Assistants for July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018.
  • The Board approved the monthly claim documents as submitted.
  • The following documents were signed by all board members:
