Frankton-Lapel Community Schools

  • Lapel High School student Natalia Campbell led the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • The Board approved the minutes from the September 10, 2015 school board meeting as presented.
  • The Board acknowledged Lapel High School which provided the information on the board room bulletin board for October.
  • The Board approved the 2016 budgets and plans as follows: 
    • General Fund Budget, Debt Service Budget, Capital Projects Plan & Budget, Transportation Operating Budget, and Transportation Bus Replacement Plan & Budget.
  • Superintendent Bobby Fields reported on the official ADM count taken on Friday, September 18, 2015.
  • Mr. Fields reported on the health insurance claims for September 2015.
  • Mr. Fields reported on the parent-teacher conferences to be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 and Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 3:00-6:30 p.m., with the students being released 30 minutes early on those days.
  • The Board approved to purchase and implement a Wellness Program with Garmin for Frankton-Lapel Community Schools employees.
  • Mr. Fields reported to the Board on the state tuition support figures for 2015-16.
  • The Board approved the following cash tuition requests:

  • The Board approved the following gifts and donations:

      • $774.00 from the First United Methodist Church in Frankton for the Goodwill Fund    
    • Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School
      • $200.00 from the Frankton High School Alumi Association for the Emma Copeland Reading Scholarship Fund
    • Corporation
      • $1,550.00 discount from SafetyTech, Inc. for the scoreboard installation at the Lapel Middle School football field
  • The Board approved the following out-of-state field trip:
    • Frankton and Lapel FFA members to the National FFA Convention in Louisville on October 30, 2015.
  • The Board approved to declare as surplus equipment spare bus 11 and spare bus 21 and to sell the buses.

  • Announcements were made of the following dates:
    • October 14 & 15, 2015: Parent-Teacher Conferences – 3:00 to 6:30 p.m.
    • October 16 & 19, 2015: Fall Break – No School
    • November 12, 2015: Regular Board Meeting at Administration Office, 7:30 p.m.
