Frankton-Lapel Community Schools

  • Lapel High School band members Cory Crago, David Crosley, Jamie Day, Sydney George, Jay Godby-Schwab, Kara Hobbs, Madison Jones, Kelsey Phillips, and Brady Smith led the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • The Board approved the minutes from the April 16, 2015 school board meeting as presented.
  • Lapel High School band members Cory Crago, David Crosley, Jamie Day, Sydney George, Jay Godby-Schwab, Kara Hobbs, Madison Jones, Kelsey Phillips, and Brady Smith reported to the Board on their trip to the Boston St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
  • Financial advisor Lonnie Therber was present to report to the Board on the proposed refinancing of the school corporation Lease Rental Bonds.  The Board approved for Mr. Therber, as the financial advisor, to contact legal counsel Ice Miller to prepare documents for the refinancing to be voted on at the June 11, 2015 Board meeting.
  • Superintendent Bobby Fields reported on the health insurance claims for May 2015.
  • The Board approved the bookstore hours and textbook rental fees for 2015-16.
  • The Board approved a request by North Kids Day Care in Anderson to use one of the school corporation buses for their summer field trips and for FLCS bus driver Jacki Hudson to drive the bus for the field trips.

  • The Board approved the following gift:

  • The Board approved the joint service agreement with the Hamilton-Boone-Madison Special Services Cooperative.
  • The Board approved a lunch price increase that is required by the National School Lunch Program.  The new student lunch prices for 2015-16 are as follows: elementary-$2.05; jr.-sr. high school-$2.20.
  • The Board approved to reinvest the school corporation’s earnings of $1,069.00 from the Madison County Community Foundation back into the foundation.
  • The Board approved to purchase new bleachers at Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School.
  • The Board approved the following out-of-state field trips:
    • Frankton High School band/guard members to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio on June 2, 2015.
  • The Board approved an updated student handbook for 2015-16.
  • The Board approved the following summer camps:

  • The Board approved the monthly claim documents as submitted.
