Frankton-Lapel Community Schools

  • High Ability students Helena and Lila Beghtel led the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • The Board approved the minutes from the January 8, 2015 school board meeting as presented.
  • The Board acknowledged the High Ability class which provided the information on the board room bulletin board for February.
  • Superintendent Bobby Fields reported on which days would make up the three days that have been canceled due to inclement weather during the 2014-15 school year:
    • February 16th (President’s Day), May 27th and May 28th. 
    • The Board approved the make-up days.
  • Mr. Fields reported on the current student enrollment. 
  • Mr. Fields reported on the health insurance claims for January 2015.
  • Mr. Fields reported on the state funding for 2015.
  • Assistant Superintendent Sterling Boles reported on the new Student Mobile Device Handbook.  The Board approved the handbook.
  • The Board approved a request by Michael Pelsor, CEO of MPX Solutions to install an antenna on the Frankton Elementary School tower.
  • The Board approved the following transfer tuition requests:

  • The Board approved the following gifts:
    • Lapel High School
      • $100.00 from the Lapel Lions Club for the band
      • $115.00 from Tony Mullet for the girls basketball team
      • $50.00 from Lue Ann Shuck for the boys basketball team
      • $11,000.00 from The River Church to be used as needed
      • $1,990.00 for the football team as follows: $690.00 from Community Hospital Anderson, $1000.00 from Miller Eads, $300.00 from Kyle & Dee Soults

  • The Board approved Thursday, March 19, 2015, 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. for the kindergarten and age 4 pre-school round-up for Frankton and Lapel Elementary Schools.
  • The Board approved to declare as surplus equipment spare buses 41 and 42 so that the buses could be sold.
  • The Board approved the following recommendations:
