  • Corporation Treasurer Lynn Hall led the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • The Board approved the minutes from the August 8, 2013 school board meeting as amended.
  • The Board held a public hearing to receive questions and comments regarding the proposed 2014 budgets as advertised. No one addressed the Board about the proposed budgets.
  • Superintendent Bobby Fields reported on the initial enrollment for the 2013-14 school year.
  • Mr. Fields reported on the health insurance claims for August 2013.

  • The Board approved the following out-of-state field trips:
      • The Frankton 8th grade class to Gettysburg and Washington, D.C. on October 8-12, 2013.
      • The Frankton Senior Class to New York City on March 18-22, 2014.
      • The Lapel 8th grade class to Washington, D.C. on May 14-16, 2014.
  • The Board approved a request by the Madison Park Church of God to use school corporation buses to transport students to the following youth events:
    • Sky Zone Park in Fishers on Sunday, September 15, 2013, and the State Youth Convention in Indianapolis on November 1-3, 2013.
  • The Board approved a request by Transportation Director Sterling Boles to sell the corporation owned Chevrolet Silverado truck with snow plow.
  • The Board approved the recommendation of Mr. Boles for the school corporation to purchase one 72 passenger school bus, one Type A bus, and one Type A wheelchair passenger bus from Midwest.

  • The Board accepted the resignation letter of Jerry G. Hoss, Jr. as principal of Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School.
  • The Board approved the claim documents as submitted.
  • Mr. Boles reported to the Board on the Technology Innovation Plan Grant.
  • The following documents were signed by all board members:
    • Minutes of the August 8, 2013 school board meeting; teacher contracts; letters of appreciation to First United Methodist Church of Frankton and Frankton Heritage Days; and accounts payable voucher register, payroll claim listings, and hand check listing.
