  • The Board approved the minutes from the June 13, 2013 school board meeting.
  • Superintendent Bobby Fields reported on the health insurance claims for June 2013.
  • The opening school schedule was reported as follows:
    • July 31 & August 1 – FES, LES, & LMS new student registration
    • August 6, 7, & 8 – FJSHS & LHS new student registration
    • August 12 – New Teacher Orientation
    • August 13 – Organization Day/In-service Day (meet at LHS for breakfast and introductions, work at schools for the day)
    • August 14 – Teacher Work Day
    • August 15 – First Day for K-12 Students
  • The Board approved the following schedule for the 2014 budget adoption:
    • Thursday, August 1 – Budget work session (flexible date)
    • Thursday, August 8 – Regular board meeting: request permission to advertise 2014 budget
    • Wednesday, August 14 – 1st publication of 2014 budget
    • Wednesday, August 28 – 2nd publication of 2014 budget
    • Wednesday, August 28 – Submit estimated tax rates and tax levies to the fiscal body of the county
    • Thursday, September 23 – Regular Board Meeting: Public Hearing on 2014 Budget (7:30 p.m.)
