Frankton-Lapel Community Schools

  • Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School boys cross country coach Brian Williams presented the members of the Sectional and Regional winning cross country team: 
    • Garrett Allen, Aaron Cawthorn, Colin Coryell, Dylan Doan, T.J. Eads, Nate Gollmer, Blake Wetz, and Parker Williams. The team led the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • The Board approved the minutes from the October 11, 2012 school board meeting as presented.
  • The Board acknowledged Lapel Middle School, which provided the information on the bulletin board for November.
  • Superintendent Bobby Fields reported on the free textbook statistics for 2012-13.
  • Mr. Fields reported on the parent-teacher conferences that were held October 24 & 25, 2012.
  • Assistant Superintendent Sterling Boles reported on the Technology Innovation Planning Grant for $30,000 that was awarded to the school corporation.
  • Mr. Fields reported on the school accountability placements for all Frankton-Lapel schools as determined by the State of Indiana as follows:
    • Frankton Elementary School – B
    • Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School – B
    • Lapel Elementary School – A
    • Lapel Middle School – A
    • Lapel High School – A
  • Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School Principal Jerry Hoss reported on the schools improvement from a “D” in 2011 to a “B” on the 2012 list.
  • The Board approved for the school corporation to borrow funds on tax anticipation warrants from the Indiana Bond Bank for 2013.
  • The Board approved the following cash tuition request:

  • The Board approved for the schools in the corporation to pay for supplies and equipment from the extra-curricular fund titled “General Fund” during the 2012-13 school year.
  • The Board approved a resolution to place remaining 2012 appropriations from the various Frankton-Lapel Community Schools funds in the Rainy Day Fund as determined by the superintendent to help protect the school corporation in shortfalls of state funding and/or shortfalls in property tax collections.
  • The Board approved the following recommendations:

      • Dean Riddle – Girls varsity basketball coach
      • Ty Riddle – Girls junior varsity basketball coach
    • Lapel Middle School
      • Alicia Everitt – Girls basketball coach (volunteer)
  • The Board approved the claim documents as submitted.
