Frankton-Lapel Community Schools

  • The Board approved the minutes from the May 10, 2012 school board meeting as presented.
  • Assistant Superintendent Sterling Boles reported on the ISTEP and End of Course Assessment scores for the school corporation.
  • Superintendent Bobby Fields gave a report reviewing the school corporation goals for 2011-12 and how the corporation fared in accomplishing the goals.
  • The Board approved the following cash tuition requests for the 2012-13 school year:

  • Mr. Fields discussed the changes in the Hamilton-Boone-Madison special services cooperative.  The Board approved the agreement.
  • The Board approved the following construction invoice:
    • Stenz Construction - $45,072.25 
  • The Board approved the following gifts and donations:
    • Lapel Elementary School
      • $1,100.00 for the Bradford Woods account as follows: 
        • Charley’s Fund  from the Pendleton First United Methodist Church, $660; Nancy & Herschel Hinkle, $110; Sam & Karen Swadley, $110; Lynn Upton, $110; Barbara White, $110
  • The Board approved the following out-of-state field trips:
    • Lapel varsity boys basketball team to a basketball camp at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan on June 27-30, 2012
  • The Board approved the school nutrition program with the Department of Education for 2012-13.
  • The Board approved the summer camps for 2012.
  • The Board approved for the churches of Lapel to use Frankton-Lapel buses for their annual Community Unity gathering.
  • The Board approved the following recommendations:
    • Frankton Jr.-Sr. High
      • Jenny Kubly – Summer guard director
    • Lapel High School
      • Jeffrey Commeville – Head wrestling coach
      • Molly Fields – Biology teacher (50%)
      • Tim Miller – Social studies/physical education teacher and head varsity
        football coach
  • The Board approved the administrative contracts for July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013.
  • The Board approved the claim documents as submitted.
  • The following documents were signed by Board members:
    • Minutes of the April 19, 2012 and May 10, 2012 school board meetings; administrator contracts; letters of appreciation to Pendleton United Methodist Church, Nancy & Herschel Hinkle, Sam & Karen Swadley, Lynn Upton, and Barbara White; and accounts payable voucher register.
  • Announcements were made of the following dates:
    • July 12, 2012: Regular Board Meeting at Administration Office, 7:30 p.m.
