Frankton-Lapel Community Schools

  • Lapel Elementary School student Cody Klettheimer led the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • The Board approved the minutes from the September 2, 2010 and September 16, 2010 school board meetings as presented.
  • Gary Turner and Ed Soots of Lorenz Williams Clinton reported on the proposed renovation projects at Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School and Lapel Elementary/Middle School.
  • Superintendent Bobby Fields reported on the proposed amendment to the lease between the Frankton-Lapel South High School Building Corporation and Frankton-Lapel Community Schools to accommodate the $2,000,000 interest-free bond loan available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The Board approved the following resolutions: Declaration of Official Intent to Reimburse Expenditures, Resolution Reapproving Building Corporation, and Resolution Approving Form of Amendment to Lease.
  • Mr. Fields reported on the official ADM count taken on Friday, September 17, 2010.
  • Mr. Fields reported on the parent-teacher conferences to be held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 1:00 - 7:30 p.m.
  • Mr. Fields reported on the school corporation’s appropriation spending through September 30, 2010.
  • The Board approved for the school corporation to advertise for 3 new 78 passenger school buses and 1 new 24 passenger school bus.
  • The Board approved the following cash tuition request:
    • Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School
      • Kaley Shoemaker - grade 10
  • The Board approved for the schools in the corporation to pay for supplies and equipment from the extra-curricular fund titled “General Fund” during the 2010-11 school year.
  • The Board approved the following gifts:
    • Frankton Elementary School
      • $223.22 from Target through the Take Charge of Education fundraising program
    • Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School
      • $421.32 from the Class of 2011 Post Prom Parents for the FHS Class of 2011
      • $2,000.00 from the Frankton Christian Church for the Goodwill Fund
      • $200.00 from the Frankton Heritage Days for the band & choir
      • $805.06 from the J.R. White Memorial Golf Outing for the athletic department
      • $100.00 from Moser & Moser Optometrist for the athletic department
      • $1,200.00 for Partners in Athletics as follows: Central Indiana Orthopedics, $400; Drake Farms, $400; Robin’s Carpet Cleaning, $400
      • $242.99 from Target through the Take Charge of Education fundraising program for the general fund
    • Lapel Elementary School
      • $380.00 from the Parent-Teachers Group for a table for the office
    • The Board approved the claim documents as submitted.
    • The following documents were signed by all board members:
      • Minutes of the September 2, 2010 and September 16, 2010 school board meetings; letters of appreciation to Target, FHS Class of 2011 Post Prom Parents, Frankton Christian Church, Frankton Heritage Days, J.R. White Memorial Golf Outing, Moser & Moser Optometrist, Central Indiana Orthopedics, Drake Farms, Robin’s Carpet Cleaning, and LES Parent-Teachers Group; amendment to lease resolutions; and accounts payable voucher register.
