  • The Board acknowledged Lapel Elementary School which provided the information on the bulletin board for May.
  • Lapel Show Choir director Jeannine Terhune and choir members Kyle Bisping and Ali Nicholson reported on the show choir’s spring tour.
  • Superintendent Bobby Fields reported on the enrollment projections for 2010-11.
  • Mr. Fields gave a report on appropriations spending for the school corporation through April, 2010.

  • The Board approved an agreement with Harmony Publishing to publish the Frankton-Lapel Schoolhouse newsletter that goes out to most of the mailing addresses in the corporation.
  • The Board approved to re-invest the school corporation’s earnings of $775.00 from the Madison County Community Foundation back into the Foundation.
  • The Board approved a resolution to transfer 5% of the capital projects fund levy under IC 20-46-6-5, in the amount of $41,547.00, to the general fund to help offset the reduction in the funding of the general fund as allowed in House Enrolled Act (HEA) 1367.
  • The Board approved a revised 2010-11 calendar for the school corporation.
  • The Board approved the summer camps for 2010.
  • The Board approved the bookstore hours and textbook rental fees for 2010-11.
  • The Board approved the following retirement:
  • Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School
    • Dick Shelton - Science teacher, at the end of the 2009-10 school year, 47 years of service to FLCS
  • The Board approved the following recommendation:

  • The Board approved the monthly claim documents as submitted.
  • The following documents were signed by all board members: Minutes of the April 15, 2010 school board meeting; resolution to transfer between funds; letters of appreciation to FHS Alumni Association, LES Parent-Teacher Group, South Madison Community Foundation, General Mills, Beth Sperry, and Marsh Supermarkets; and accounts payable voucher register.
