Frankton-Lapel Community Schools

  • Lapel Elementry School student Alyssa Whaley led the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • The Board approved the minutes from the November 12, 2009 school board meeting as presented.
  • The Board acknowledged Lapel Elementary School, which provided the information on the bulletin board for December.
  • The Board held a public hearing to receive questions and comments regarding additional appropriation of $700,000 for the Rainy Day Fund. No one addressed the Board about the additional appropriations. The Board approved the additional appropriation.
  • Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School Spanish teacher Ginger Thompson and student Mike Kelich reported on their trip to England, France, and Spain. Lapel High School English teacher Jerry Kemerly and students Kelsi Bostic and Justin Neff reported on their trip to Scotland, Wales, England, and France. The Board approved for Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School and Lapel High School students to take the trip to Europe in the Fall of 2010.
  • Mark Finger of the Madison County Community Foundation gave a presentation on the status of a high tech high school in Madison County.
  • The Board approved a tentative date for the Academic Hall of Fame Banquet as March 10, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the Anderson Country Club.
  • The Board approved the following schedule for the regular board meetings in 2010: January 14, February 11, March 11, April 15, May 13, June 10, July 8, August 12, September 9, October 14, November 11, and December 9. All of the above dates are the second Thursday of the month except for April 15 (3rd Thursday due to Spring Break)
  • The Board approved the following cash tuition students:
    • Frankton Elementary School
      • Sera Boudreaux - Kindergarten
      • Adrianna Boudreaux - Grade 4
      • Lora Boudreaux - Grade 5
  • The Board approved the school corporation calendar for 2010-11.
  • The Board approved the 2010 insurance proposal as presented by Pendleton Insurance Agency.
  • The Board approved for notification of the 2010 school board meetings to any newspaper requesting the information.
  • The Board approved the payment of 2009 bills and transfers of appropriations.
  • The Board approved a resolution to transfer Tri County School to Noblesville Schools.
  • The Board approved to borrow money from MainSource Bank until the school corporation receives the remaining 2009 taxes.
  • The Board approved the following recommendations:

  • The Board approved the 2010 maintenance work schedule.
  • The Board approved the claim documents as submitted.
  • The following documents were signed by all board members: Minutes of the November 12, 2009 school board meeting; revised teacher contract; transfer resolution; additional appropriation resolution; resolutions for payment of 2009 bills and transfer of funds; and accounts payable voucher register.
  • Announcements were made of the following dates:
    • December 18, 2009: Last Student Day of 2009
    • January 4, 2010: Teacher Records Day (no students)
    • January 5, 2010: First Student Day of 2010
    • January 14, 2010: Regular Board Meeting at Administration Office, 7:30 p.m.
