Frankton-Lapel Community Schools

  • The Board approved the minutes for the July 19, 2009 school board meeting as presented.
  • Frankton-Lapel students who are members of the Youth Leadership Academy of Madison County presented a report on the retreat that was held in July. The students were as follows:
    • Frankton High School - Allison Browning, Sarah Green, Ian Imel
    • Lapel High School - Abbey Amos, Chris Cartwright, Chandler Guion, John Hettinga, Tyler Watson
  • The Board held a public hearing to receive questions and comments regarding an additional appropriation of $250,000 for the Capital Projects Fund. No one addressed the Board about the additional appropriation. The Board approved the additional appropriation.
  • Assistant Superintendent Sterling Boles reported on the results of the 2009 bus inspection that was conducted by the State Police on July 21st.
  • Superintendent Bobby Fields reported on the adoption schedule for the 2010 budget as follows:
    • Thursday, August 27 - 1st publication of 2010 budget
    • Thursday, September 3 - 2nd publication of 2010 budget
    • Thursday, September 10 - Public hearing on 2010 budget (7:30 p.m.)
    • Thursday, September 17 - Adoption of 2010 budget (7:30 p.m.)
  • Mr. Fields reported on the initial enrollment for grades K-12 for the beginning of the 2009-10 school year.
