  • Lapel Elementary School student Dalton Mills led the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • The Board approved the minutes from the March 12, 2009 school board meeting as presented.
  • The Board acknowledged Lapel Elementary School which provided the information on the bulletin board for April.
  • Tom Green, Keith Jackson, and Nicole Stapleton, members of the Lapel High School marching band, presented a report on their trip to Savannah, Georgia to perform in the St. Patrick's Day parade.
  • Superintendent Bobby Fields reported on the 180 full day ruling by the State of Indiana.
  • Mr. Fields reported on the school corporation finances for the first quarter of 2009.
  • Mr. Fields reported on the certification of the school technology plan by the Indiana Department of Education.
  • Mr. Fields reported on the school schedule for the rest of the 2008-09 school year.

  • The Board approved the following out-of-state field trips:
    • Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School varsity and jr. varsity baseball team to Cincinnati on May 10, 2009.
    • Frankton 8th grade class to Washington, D.C. and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on October 6-10, 2009.
    • Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School National Honor Society to Cedar Point, Ohio on May 22-24, 2009.
    • Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School post prom to Kings Island, Ohio on April 25 & 26, 2009.
  • The Board approved a 2-day waiver for the Frankton and Lapel Senior Classes of 2009 to prepare for graduation.
  • The Board approved for Lapel High School to set up an account in the name of Katherine Ewers, a teacher who was injured in a motorcycle accident, to receive donations for Mrs. Ewers and her family.
  • The Board approved the following retirement:

      • Steve Babbitt - Social Studies teacher, at the end of the 2008-09 school year, 30 years of service to FLCS

  • The Board approved the monthly claim documents as submitted.
  • Jerry Hoss, Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School principal, reported to the Board that the Frankton weight room was open from January thru March with an average attendance of 20-25 people each evening.
  • The following documents were signed by all board members:
