Frankton Elementary School students Chyann Coons and Quintin Slate led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Board approved the minutes from the November 8, 2007 school board meeting as presented.
The Board acknowledged Frankton Elementary School, which provided the information on the bulletin board for December.
Lapel Jr.-Sr. High School principal Jerry Kemerly and student Logan Metzger, and Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School teacher Andrea Coryell and students David DeWitt, Haley Jenkins, Mary Kelich, and Drew Lacey reported on their trips to England. The Board approved Mr. Kemerly and Mrs. Coryell's requests to take the trip to England in the Fall of 2008.
Superintendent Ned Speicher reported on the construction progress at all the school sites. The Board approved the construction bills as of this date.
Mr. Speicher reported on the recent air quality tests conducted at the schools. All reports were satisfactory
The Board approved a tentative date for the Academic Hall of Fame Banquet as March 18, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at the Anderson Country Club. The alternate date is March 22, 2008.
The Board approved the following schedule for the regular board meetings in 2008:
January 17, February 14, March 13, April 17, May 8, June 12, July 10, August 14, September 11, October 9, November 13, and December 11. All of the above dates are the second Thursday of the month except for January 17 (3rd Thursday due to late Christmas Break) and April 17 (3rd Thursday due to Spring Break).
The Board approved participation in the Indiana Bond Bank to borrow funds from tax anticipation warrants for 2008.
The Board approved the school corporation calendar for 2008-09.
The Board approved the following gifts:
$75 for the Madison County Community Foundation Early Childhood Education initiative as follows: $50 from Mara-le Quarles; $25 from St. Luke's United Methodist Church

The Board approved the 2008 insurance proposal as presented by Pendleton Insurance Agency.
The Board approved for notification of the 2008 school board meetings to any newspaper requesting the information.
The Board approved the following out-of-state field trips:
Teacher Bud Clark to take the Lapel Elementary 6th graders to Louisville, Kentucky on May 9, 2008.
The Board approved the payment of 2007 bills and transfers of appropriations.
The Board approved to purchase two transportation trucks to repair and tow buses, and to purchase two snow plows. The current transportation trucks would have the snow plows installed and be stationed at Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School and Lapel High School.
The Board approved the quote of T.R. Landscapes & Concrete to remove the foundation of the old football and weight room building at Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School.
The Board approved the renewal of the Siemens maintenance agreements at all facilities.
The Board approved quotes by Enterprise Roof Contractors for roof repair at Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School and Lapel Elementary/Middle School.
The Board approved a request by Julie Craig for her son, Joseph Champagne, to attend Lapel High School as a cash tuition student.
The Board approved to furnish the new weight room at Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School at the level of the new Lapel High School with funds available in the construction accounts.
